This blog has been started to begin a discussion of Senior Care issues we all face at one time or another as residents in Oregon and beyond. Oregon has indeed been a pioneer state in many ways, and this blog is meant to further the discussion and contribution of a quality system of caring for the seniors of our great state. Today we are faced with many senior living options, from Adult Day Care to Assisted Living, Adult Family Homes, to what we all know as Nursing Homes. In Home Care is preferred by most, at least as a starting point. The quality found in that care depends in a large part to how we all are involved in the oversight and attention to what goes on within the walls of those care facilities,or programs found in all of our communities.
For over 22 years the owners of this blog, Norm Rice & Monika Gartner have not only experienced personally the family dynamics involved in caring for a family member or friend, but have also assisted countless families through what at the time may be a very draining and stress-filled experience.
